Strongsville - Home Transformation via 3D Kitchen Design
When this Strongsville family decided to renovate their home, they weren’t just looking for new cabinets or updated finishes—they wanted a space that felt truly connected. Their existing layout had its charms, but the closed-off kitchen and underutilized sunroom made it hard to entertain, relax, and cook together as a family.
They came to Milestone Home Design looking for a way to see their vision before committing to construction. Using 3D kitchen design, immersive panoramic views, and a virtual walkthrough, I helped them explore the possibilities and confidently bring their dream space to life.
Bringing Their Vision Into Focus: A Personalized 3D Kitchen Design
From the start, my goal was to design a kitchen that reflected the family’s farmhouse-transitional aesthetic—a mix of sage greens, warm wood tones, and matte black hardware. But this project was about more than just style; it needed to work for their daily life.

Key design goals:
A large island for seating and conversation during meal preparation
A seamless connection between the kitchen and dining area
A bright, airy feel with plenty of natural light
To create the space they envisioned, they made the bold decision to tear down a wall and incorporate the sunroom into the kitchen and dining area—a choice that completely transformed the flow of their home. They also wanted to explore a longer-term project to enclose their existing deck into a three-season room, ensuring they still have a cozy indoor-outdoor retreat.
Concept 1: A Thoughtful Evolution of Their Vision
This design stayed closest to the family’s original ideas while still making substantial structural changes to open up the space.
Kitchen: Green cabinetry with black hardware and gold accents, a white subway tile backsplash, and an open-style island with seating for eight. The kitchen and sunroom wall was removed, and the design showcased what it would look like if only part of the dining room wall was taken down.
Dining Area: A beverage fridge was added in this space for convenience.
Future Three-Season Room: The design included black-framed windows covering 90% of the walls, a vaulted ceiling with one style of crossbeam, and a darker stone fireplace paired with lighter wood furniture.
Concept 2: A Bold Step Toward Openness
In this iteration, we took down even more of the dining room wall, pushing the open-concept layout further.
Kitchen: Wood-colored cabinetry with primarily black hardware, a white vertical beadboard backsplash, and a closed-style green island for contrast. The island still had eight stools, but they were a different style.
Dining Area: This design removed cabinetry and replaced it with open shelving, and the dining chairs were also updated for variety.
Future Three-Season Room: The windows were wood-framed with 100% wall coverage, the ceiling was flat with cross beams, and the fireplace stone was lighter with wicker outdoor furniture, creating a softer, natural feel.
Concept 3: A Completely Reimagined Space
In this concept, we introduced an L-shaped island, eliminating the separate island for a fully integrated layout.
Kitchen: Wood-colored cabinetry with a crisp white L-shaped island, black hardware with gold accents, and a scalloped tile backsplash. Seating was reduced to four stools to make space for a built-in conversation set in the bay window. The oven and hood were relocated for better functionality.
Dining Area: Open shelving was included again but with a slightly different design, and both the dining chairs and island stools were updated for variation.
Future Three-Season Room: The windows were painted instead of wood, offering a sleeker finish. The vaulted ceiling returned but without crossbeams, and instead of a traditional fireplace, the design showcased a built-in TV and fireplace combination for a modern touch.
The Power of 3D Kitchen Design
Choosing a new kitchen layout can feel overwhelming—especially when it involves major structural changes. By leveraging my 3D kitchen design services, my clients were able to:
✨ Virtually "walk through" each concept and experience the space before committing
✨ Explore different layouts, materials, and finishes in real time
✨ Share their design with contractors for seamless communication
Instead of trying to imagine how their kitchen would feel, they could see it, experience it and move forward with confidence.
