Buckhead - Online Bathroom Design

Meet Buckhead, my latest online bathroom design project!

In Avon Lake, Ohio, a couple decided it was time to transform their primary bathroom. Over the years, they had updated most of their home but the master bathroom was the last piece of the puzzle. The narrow width of the space limited the changes we could make to the overall floorplan, but they wanted to refresh the space with an aesthetic that would exude elegance while maximizing functionality. They had some high-level ideas, but needed help refining and visualizing them. That’s where I came in, helping them explore three distinct narrow bathroom design concepts that allowed them to finalize their plans.

Erin is incredible! We had a vision for our master bathroom remodel, but she completely kicked it up a notch. Her eye for details and different design elements is a true talent. I would recommend Erin to anyone looking for a clear vision for their next project. Erin is so easy to work with and such a professional.

Concept 1: Classic Elegance

The first concept focused on timeless elegance, utilizing a soft white palette to create an airy feel. I used gold hardware and mosaic stone flooring to add a touch of luxury, while the patterned tile behind the vanities provided a point of visual interest. I chose a feminine light fixture and included LED mirrors and double showerheads to ensure that the space didn’t just look good, but also delivered comfort and functionality. My clients had even requested that one of their pantry closets be converted to a coffee bar - how chic yet functional! Sconces flanked either side of the mirrors in this concept, and the shower featured classic white subway tile on the side walls and the same patterned tile from behind the vanities on the back wall.

Concept 2: Moody and Modern

I designed this concept with a bolder feel to provoke a moody and modern aesthetic. Here, light blue cabinetry contrasted beautifully with black fixtures, offering a sleek, contemporary vibe. I played with textures, incorporating a patterned tile into the floor and a hex-pattern tile behind the vanities. I replaced the wall sconces with larger LED mirrors to add depth and light. The chevron-tiled shower coordinated with the tile behind the vanities and became a standout feature, seamlessly enhancing the vertical space.

Concept 3: Bright and Funky

In the final concept, I used a playful yet refined approach. I showed bright blue vanities and a unique tile pattern on the ceiling, which brought energy to the room and unexpected flair. I also balanced these bold choices with simple hex tiles on the floor and classic subway tiles behind the vanities and in the shower, creating a harmonious blend of fun and sophistication.

Design Revisions

After reviewing the initial designs, the couple refined the visualizations to preview a few more concepts. Leveraging the first concept as a foundation, I incorporated lighter floor tiles to create an open, airy feel. A plain herringbone pattern tile was added behind the mirrors to provide subtle sophistication, and the light fixtures around the mirrors were removed to let the LED mirrors shine as focal points.

For each design concept, I introduced tailored changes:

Concept 1: Gold brushed fixtures complemented the LED mirrors and hex-tile patterned floor. Gray cabinetry paired with large marble herringbone tiles extended onto the vanity sides, adding grandeur.

Concept 2: Brushed gold hardware and LED mirrors created a modern touch, while white subway tiles and light blue cabinetry balanced boldness. The medium white herringbone tile adorned the vanity wall.

Concept 3: Olive cabinets brought warmth, paired with small marble herringbone tiles behind LED mirrors that delivered understated drama.

Online Bathroom Design for the Win

Throughout the design process, I incorporated custom solutions that made the bathroom truly theirs. For the husband, a taller vanity ensured maximum comfort, while the cozy coffee nook became a luxurious addition for leisurely mornings. These thoughtful touches added layers of personalization to the space, making it a functional retreat tailored to their lifestyle.

For the best visualization experience, I provided panoramic views and virtual walkthroughs. These deliverables allowed them to explore each design in detail, so they could confidently make decisions. By the end of our journey, their once-outdated bathroom was reimagined into a sanctuary that perfectly balanced beauty and practicality.
