Valencia - Virtual Exterior House Design
When my client approached me to upgrade their house exterior, they had a vision. They knew exactly what they needed:, an attached, larger garage, a woodshop for their business and a master suite. But visualizing their ideas and ensuring everything would fall into place? That’s where I stepped in with a virtual exterior house design.
From Rough Sketches to Initial Designs
The existing home featured charming log siding, with a detached garage and a driveway leading up to it. My client had already sketched a rough 2D plan for the addition, but questions lingered. How would it all tie together with the existing structure? What would the roofline look like? Any other special features or materials?
To help them visualize these variables, I got to work creating an initial design. The addition featured log siding to match the original structure and seamlessly extended from the right side of the house. I showed the single car garage bay as set-back from the two car bay, a concept that the client hadn’t previously considered. We both liked how it broke up the structure and also provided an area to incorporate a man door for easier entry to the garage.
I provided photorealistic images and an immersive, interactive view of this design. To provide clarity on dimensions and placement, I also shared an overhead view. This helped confirm the design aligned with the measurements and layout from the line drawings my client had provided.
Refining the Design: Adding Stonework and Extending the Space
After reviewing the initial design, my client came back with one revision; the addition of stonework along the front facade to break-up the log siding and provide more character.
The transformation was striking, and the client was elated. What started as a sketch on paper became a fully realized plan via my virtual exterior house design. Seeing the evolution from the initial sketch to the final rendering was a rewarding journey for both of us.

Why Virtual Exterior House Design is a Game-Changer
Designing an addition can feel overwhelming, but virtual design made the process clear and collaborative. My client could see his ideas come to life in real-time, adjust details and feel confident before committing to construction.
Whether it’s creating a cohesive addition or blending new elements with existing architecture, a virtual exterior house design allows homeowners to visualize every detail. It’s not just about drawings—it’s about making dreams tangible.
